a dying art.

one of my favorite things to do when i go to utah to visit my family is to drive my sister, chubbs, a high school senior, to school or social functions.  as she's exiting the car to join her friends, i roll down the car window and shout (in my best mother hen voice), "i love you shelby!  remember who you are!!"  i glean great pleasure in watching her squirm as her peers snicker.  and if i happen to be in my pajamas -- icing on the cake.

that's good comedy.  my sense of humor is obviously less than refined.

so today, imagine my elation when my dad decides to prank call me.  caller id has killed the prank phone call, but my father doesn't seem to remember (or mind) that. he called my phone and sang a snippet of this incredibly disturbing tune into my ear:

then he hung up.

30 seconds later he called my sister hilly (who is visiting me this week) and cranked johnny cash's "ring of fire" into the phone.

dad, you are so weird. i loved it. do it more often.

clark, really? that is even more funny to me. i thought his best humor display from my childhood was mowing the lawn in hammer pants or those muscle pants......

ha! funniest/most disturbing commercial ever made! Mark and I talked for months afterwards, wondering what kind of career-demise the brains behind that wretched display suffered.

The little things in life are what makes my world go round. I can't wait to embarrass Beckham in front of his friends!

this is one of my favorite commercials of all time! something about those demented faces just melts my heart(just like those tasty sandwiches!)

your dad sounds incredible. you could tell him that prank calling has been brought to a whole new level because you can now route your call(or text) through what ever number you want to show up! he sounds like he would appreciate that.

I remember dating Ross and him and his roommates would sing that lil' jingle. And I still married him. Hmmmmm. I love that your dad did that though. Ross finds sites that will call you and do the prank call for you and then it shows up unavailable - so far I have had calls from Dwight K. Shrute and Optimus Prime. Yeaaahh....

old me.
