1.10.2010

greetings from 2010.

1. christmas break is over. matt goes back to school tomorrow. do you know what that means? it means i have to watch family feud by myself now. watching it alone makes me feel slightly pathetic, and i'm hoping even my closest of friends won't judge me for this admission, but i guess i have no shame; i love the feud. matt and i watched it nearly every day during the break. we got so into it that we've decided to start taking detailed statistical data on whether or not it is in your family's best interest to "pass or play." matt even got mad at the television set right along with me when the 100 randomly surveyed individuals who were asked, "what things would you find in a manger scene" did not yield a "mary" or "star of bethlehem," yet a "christmas tree," according to the dopes who answered, would surely be included. where is family feud finding these goobers? i'm a little worried about our nation.

2. it's cold here. no, seriously though. and i don't care if you live in utah and it's cold there too... do you own a car? a car with heating capability? and are you able to drive this car to the grocery store? that's what i thought.

3. last week i think i saw two B- or maybe even D-list stars. one was the guy who played maggie gyllenhal's hippie husband in the movie, away we go, and the other was the guy who played 'elliot' on that 80s show my parents would never let me watch, thirtysomething. i don't know these dudes' real names, therefore i don't think these two sightings combined would even warrant a "close encounters with famous people" post. but i thought i'd just throw that out there for all you 'elliot' fans.

4. i'm very ready to meet baby sister, but she's obviously got some reservations about meeting me. the more i try to coax her out, the quieter she gets. i get the strongest contractions while sitting on the couch, staring into space. i have a feeling i'll be doing a whole lot of nothing this week, except for the feud. who's with me?

1.i love the feud. maybe we can watch it together via telephone. that way neither of us have to actually leave our apts/couch?

3.i'm pretty sure that is jim off of the office correct? that totally should have made close encounters.

I haven't seen the feud in ages - but if you need company CJ and I will come entertain both of you. Along with Spice I jumped out of a swing 2 days past my due date....didn't really work, but it was fun and worth a shot. Would be even more exciting in the cold and snow!

ha ha! I don't think Family Feud has even made it to NZ yet, that's how behind they are on their media here. They love the old slow jams of the 80s though!

Hang in there dovie, the little pea will be well worth it! Can't wait to meet her via skype!

And really, a Christmas tree over Mary or the Star? Come on!

i love the feud! isn't the host a touchy-feely old man who makes sure he kisses all the female contestants? ahh! classic! so baby sister is enjoying the warm oven...bless her soul. she'll be arriving soon. you just enjoy the feud and the couch-time, my dear.

I've been waiting for the baby sister post! When is your due date again? I figured she would come in similar time to Fox man...which means after we all are ready for her arrival. Can't imagine how ready you are as I have been anxious to get this one here since around 14 weeks along. Looking so forward to hearing your little one is here and healthy!! Hang in there. ps...got your cute card the other day! Fun to see how big Fox has gotten. Such a cute boy.

oh, those last few days are torture. SUCH torture. i have nothing consoling for you. now, you do know that you can switch out the little flowers and bows on her little headband, right? okay, just checking. and if you get her a little knitted beanie, you can attach them there, too. dang, i should've gotten you a beanie. i agree, east coast winters are waaaaaay worse than west coast winters. factor in the wet humidity and you have bone-chilling frigid. stay cozy!

LOVE the Fued. LOVE John. He should have taken over the Price is Right instead of Drew. I can't watch that show anymore. Probably for the best though.

Once when I was watching it they said to name a 'healthy dessert' to which the girl replied 'cheesecake.' She didn't even flinch or regret her decision either. Guess it might explain the obesity epidemic in this country...

Oh yeah, and Maggie Gylenhaal's husband in away we go is def not Jim from the office (maya rudolph's hub), it is some guy named Josh Hamilton...don't ask me why I know that.
