democracy at its finest.

howard dean: iowa caucus casualty, 2004.

i live in hong kong. in china (sorta). and when i turn on the tv i am getting around the clock coverage of the iowa caucuses. not a primary election, a CAUCUS. the "rah rah rah," "let's get 'em boys!" dog-and-pony show caucuses. i thought i'd be able to escape this 2008 election spin here in the orient, but alas. what must the rest of the world think of us americans? kenyans are killing each other in riots, burning down churches full of people, after a questionable democratic election; pakistan is on the verge of civil war after the assassination of benazir bhutto, a beacon of hope in a lawless part of the world, and the self-centered american media has got their panties in a wad because it looks like hillary clinton will have to settle for third place in a caucus in a state with a whopping population of roughly 3 mil. god bless america, please.

i'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but i also take great joy anytime mrs. clinton gets beat at anything.

ha ha! thanks for the wake up call! i have been getting roped into it all. (I agree with Kate - he is a crazy man!) and I've also been reveling in mrs. clinton's sour puss face at the debates after placing 3rd. meow.

i guess it's time for me to start seeking out global news as i have only heard very small news blips about the violence in pakistan and kenya. 5 seconds on the local nightly news should cover it, right?!?! ;)

old me.
