land of my inheritance.

barring a few bouts of montezuma's revenge, i've managed to take the upper hand against the war on germs whilst living in el DF; yet the second i arrive in squeaky clean utah i get the sinus infection of the century. i am once again south of the border now, and i still cannot shake this beast. i flat-out lost my voice entirely at one point, which has never happened to me before, and i'm guessing that the productive hack session i've been starting every morning with for the past three weeks is a good indication that my body is still a hot-bed of germ activity. i apologize to good friends for flying below the radar whilst i was in zion. believe me, i was probably doing you a favor... it got ugly. but on a positive note, i think september just may be my favorite month in the beehive state, and i thoroughly enjoyed the start of autumn... warm days, crisp nights, vibrant colors, back to school, the smell in the air (it has a distinct smell to me... is that weird?), fall decor, layering with jackets, hats and scarves... makes me want to listen to smart indie music and watch wes anderson films.

foxworth thoroughly enjoyed his utah vacation...

... and he picked up crawling and a few yoga positions along the way...

hilly, i took these just for you (try to look past the bug guts on the windshield):

and we did this (thanks again julie).

and please tell me some of you have been in this situation: have you ever ran into one of the people you've peeped on online, whether it be via blog, facebook, or what-have-you? it's almost like seeing a celebrity in person... you know they exist outside the world wide web, but you can't believe you've just seen them in the flesh, so you maybe stare a little. and you almost want to go up and talk to them like you're old pals, but then you stop yourself cos you remember they have no idea who you are, and a restraining order might be hard to explain if you have any aspirations of running for a political office one day. not that i do, but i'm just saying.  i mean, look at sarah palin.

Funny you should mention it, but after hearing all these things about you and looking at your blog...then you moved back here. It was like meeting a long awaited celeb!

Love the pictures of your family! And the bug guts, hilarious!

P.S.
You'll have to move Dalena to your utah clan, they moved back to the motherland.

That's hilarious--I'm always thinking, the more people I blog-hop to, the more likely I'll run into someone someday...but hasn't happened yet.
Those pics are gorgeous, and I completely agree about the "fall smell"....I swear I caught a whiff of "Utah canyon smell" one night when I stepped outta the dallas temple. It was amazing.

I can't believe Fox is CRAWLING! Becks refuses to crawl but is totally ready to walk. He is such a booger sometimes!

I have a friend who blog-stalks a few people and she ran into the girl at a soccer game and had the same exact feelings. You can't say hi, but you really want to.

What is it about going home and taking photos? Just kidding. Your family looks smokin'. Bummer about the illness. We'll have to get together another time (I appreciate that you stayed under quarantine). Lol, Stace

My sister said she ran into you at Old Navy and said the same thing. Maybe that is who you are referring too....hum. Anyway, glad you got to come home for awhile.

Green tights...surely the girl section in the kids stores will have some this time of year. Not that I would know, since I haven't been in America this time of year since having my baby girl. Sad life;)
PS...how are we friends? Halloween is probably my least favorite holiday. I'm not creative enough to think of cute, fun costumes and I'm hard enough looking without help from a costume...Love you anyway;)
Have a great week!

I am glad that someone else thinks blogging turns everyday people into celebrities. I admit it. I read your blog. It is just too funny not to read.

A few weeks back I was hanging out with your sis, Jaclyn, and mentioned my hypothesis that blogging makes me feel sometimes like I am reading the 'They are just like us' spread in People magazine. I told her I especially felt this way when I got done running the Hunstville 10k on the 4th of July and I saw you and your hubby. I immediately waved in your direcion...without thinking. You looked at me, but didn't really respond and it was in that moment that I realized you don't really know me. Whoops. Just another crazy right here. I had a good laugh at myself. So I thought I would share my story in hopes that you have done this too. Thanks for not pointing and laughing at me :)

That Julie is a dream with the camera. & you guys are beautiful. Nicely done friend. Love em' all. I can't believe Fox's yoga moves. He's better then me. You should have him keep that up through his life. I love going home too. Even though it's a different home. It's always so wonderful. Next time we should watch a Wes film. If you are sick..I'll feed you soup & watch Foxy. I have one tough immune system.
